Improv and storytelling come together for a night of spontaneous stories as local performing troupes Take the Fifth and Better Said Than Done share the stage in Northern Virginia. This special performance, "A Night at the Improv," will be Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 7:00 PM, downstairs at The Auld Shebeen, 3971 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, Virginia. Doors open at 6:00 PM and tickets are $10 per person; tickets can be purchased online at www.bettersaidthandone.com or at the door.
"A Night at the Improv" will feature a variety of popular improv games, performed by improv troupe Take the Fifth, with suggestions, input, and direction from the audience. Hosted by storyteller and improv instructor Shawn Westfall, the evening’s storytellers from Better Said Than Done — Kathy Baird, Dustin Fisher, Cara Foran, Stephanie Garibaldi, Derek Hills, Pierce McManus and Jessica Piscitelli Robinson– will watch and be inspired. At the conclusion of each improvised scene, one or two intrepid storytellers will volunteer to take the stage and tell a related, short, true, personal story. All of the performers will be thinking on their feet that night!
